چکیده

INTRODUCTION Models of atmospheric processes simulate only certain spatial and temporal scales. The observations used to test the performance of these models are individual realizations (which can be envisioned as coming from ideal ensembles), and are affected by variations unaccounted for within the simulation model. Given this, it makes sense to ask the models to replicate variations having certain spatial and temporal scales, but it does not make sense to ask the models to replicate the variations unaccounted for within the simulation model (e.g., observed maxima, or total variance).

Statistical evaluation of centerline concentration estimates by atmospheric dispersion models

Abstract: Within the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) a Standard Practice (Z6849Z ) is being developed to provide an objective statistical procedure for comparing air quality simulation modeling results with tracer field data. The practice is limited to steady-state local-scale transport from isolated point sources in simple terrain. Evaluation data having similar external cond...

An Improved Model to Simulate Mud (Drilling Fluid) Dispersion through Porous Media

An improved model of mud dispersion has been introduced in this work. The advantages of this model consist of a new analytical correlation for dispersivity by using resistivity log data and using a new aspect of capacitance dispersion model. Mathematical formulations were expressed, solved by numerical model taking advantage of actual log and formation data. Achieved results yielded r...

A Detailed Investigation of Particulate Dispersion from Kerman Cement Plant

The aim of this study was to investigate the particulate dispersion from Kerman Cement Plant. The upwind – downwind method was used to measure particle concentration and a cascade impactor was applied to determine particle size distribution. An Eulerian model, Gaussian plume model and an artificial neural network have been used to compute and predict concentration of PM10 from Ke...

Estimation of zeolite application effect on solute transport parameters at different soils using HYDRUS-1D model

ABSTRACT-Application of models for simulation of solute and pollutants transport in soil can reduce time and costs for remediation process. HYDRUS-1D model was developed to simulate the one–dimensional flow of soil water, heat, solute and viruses in variably saturated–unsaturated porous media. The objective of this investigation is to determine the solute transport parameters in disturbed soil ...
